About

Hello!  I’m Lynn Ann.  I’m Mom/Mama/Mommy/Ma to three incredibly diversified young adults , and kinda married (common-law) to a wonderful man who studies brains for a living!   I was born in Montréal the same day as Paul Newman, only 36 years later and am now making my home in Québec City.

Throughout my life, I’ve dabbled in so many different activities due to the fact that I’ve never had the attention span  to put in the time to master at least one!  I can tap and flamenco dance, sew, knit and crochet, cut glass, all to some degree.  I delivered singing telegrams back in the ’80s.  I lived in Indonesia for awhile and can still, when hard pressed, speak the language.  I became a florist six years ago but after giving it a go for five years, I really didn’t enjoy working in the retail business, so gave that up and since then, I do the odd freelance contract which suits me just fine.   I’ve always wanted to be a backup singer in a Reggae band.  I started courses to become an herbalist several years ago, but in my typical procrastinating fashion, I let it go until just recently.  So happy I’m back at it!  Spending time with the elderly, snuggling up with a four-legged friend, and rocking a baby in my arms are three activities that are guaranteed to pull me out of a slump.  I have an addiction to secondhand everything (much to my husband’s chagrin!).  My lifelong dream is to live on a small self-sustainable farm, but for now, I’m satisfied living the country life in the city.

I’ve started this blog as a way to connect with others whose interests resemble mine.

Oh, and just in case you were wondering why the name TheWannabewabisabian, my perfectionist self aspires to the concept of wabi sabi – finding beauty in the imperfect.

Thanks for visiting!  XX

  1. Lovely to ‘meet’ you 🙂 Popped over from Shawna’s Transactions with Beauty where I left a wee reply to your comment from yesterday’s post… Saying ‘Hello’ across the ocean from England 🙂

    • Hello Claire! So lovely to meet you too! I’m sorry that I hadn’t seen your comment until now; I haven’t been on my blog for a few weeks. Thank you so very much for your reply to my comment on Shawna’s beautiful blog. I’m sorry to hear about your husband having tinnitus as well. Like you said, “it’s a relatively ‘small’ affliction, but it has such a BIG impact!” – it really does. Thankfully, I’ve learned to ‘live’ with it, otherwise it would be too overwhelming. I’m sending my thoughts to your husband as well and I hope that he can find some peace with his noises. And, of course, Hello to you too from across the pond! Thanks again for your lovely reply and for your visit! X
